A gem of a property, right in the heart of Hugh Town, this large Grade-II Listed town house is perfectly located as a holiday rental. Overlooking the park, and within a short walk of beaches, the quay and town centre facilities, this lovely house benefits from a sunny south-facing courtyard garden. 

Shearwater offers fully en-suite accommodation for up to 8 guests in two double and two zip-link bedrooms, and can accommodate a travel cot if required. Downstairs comprises a large lounge, dining room, kitchen / day room opening up to a spacious private courtyard. It offers a perfect base for large families or groups of friends. Following a comprehensive refurbishment in 2018, the property has been regularly upgraded with new carpets, furniture and decorations each year.

Sadly this property does not accept dogs.

Shearwater is an attractive, Grade-II Listed property, forming part of what is arguably the finest terrace of stone-built houses on the islands. Ideally situated, overlooking Hugh Town’s little central park, Shearwater is equidistant from the popular Porthcressa and Town beaches, and within a short walk of the harbour, shops, banks, pubs, restaurants and many other amenities the town offers.

Reputedly the home of a Scillonian Sea Captain in years gone by, Shearwater was run successfully as a guest house for many years. Following a comprehensive refurbishment and restructuring during the winter of 2017/18, it now offers spacious and stylishly presented accommodation for up to 8 guests and 2 babies - perfect for two families sharing, or multi generational family gatherings. Travel cots, highchairs and stairgates are all available to hire. There is of course free Wi-Fi and freeview TV.

All bedrooms have TVs and independently controlled electric radiators. Bathrooms are finished to the same style throughout most of the guest accommodation, having ceramic tiled floors, fully-tiled walls in a tasteful pale grey colour with decorative border, quality sanitary fittings, high-pressure thermostatic showers, chrome heated towel rails and attractive lighting. 

The spacious kitchen is newly fitted, incorporating breakfast bar seating and separate dining table. There is a range cooker, with twin ovens, twin grills and six hobs. Other appliances include microwave oven, large fridge and separate freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. An adjoining dining room can accommodate 12 people.

To the rear of the property is a sunny courtyard garden, with a rear access leading out onto Porthcressa Beach, just a few yards away. 

Please note the floorplan has been amended to show that both the attic bedroom and the first floor rear bedroom will not be available for guest use in 2024, prices have been amended to reflect this. For further information, please get in touch.
